Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of dog daycare?

Sadie's K9 Stay & Play offers a safe and supervised place for your canine family members to spend their days. We help foster appropriate social interaction and play, while providing exercise and mental stimulation;  all of which play a valuable role in having a well behaved and fulfilled dog!

What do I need to enroll at Sadie's?

To ensure daycare is right for each dog, we do a behavior assessment prior to attending. Group play is for dogs with a foundation of social skills that are comfortable around other dogs. We do not offer behavior rehabilitation and do not accept dogs with temperament issues such as aggression, extreme excitability/ fear/ anxiety, or shyness with dogs or people. We reserve the right to refuse any dog that is uncomfortable, disruptive, or not settling in to the daycare environment.

Dogs must meet the following requirements to come in for an assessment:
-Be at least 16 weeks old
-Be spayed or neutered (or have an appointment booked) by 6 months of age
-Be current on Rabies, Bordetella and DHPP vaccines
-Be treated with parasite preventatives that protect against fleas, ticks and canine lice
-Be committed to at least one day per week on a regular basis
-Be a part of your family for a minimum of one month

What are the hours for drop off and pick up?

Monday-Friday from 6:30am-6:00pm. All dogs must arrive by 10:00am and be picked up by 6:00pm.

We do not offer weekend or overnight care.

What is the cost of daycare?

Daily Rates:
Single Half Day (up to 5 hours)   $18          Single Full Day (5+ hours)   $26

 Full Day Passes:
5 Day   $115 ($23 per day)     10 Day   $220 ($22 per day)     20 Day   $420 ($21 per day)

We offer a 20% pass discount for a additional dogs within the same household when passes are purchased at the same time. Passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and expire after 90 days of non-attendance.

How often should I bring my dog to daycare?

We find that dogs do best in daycare when they attend regularly. Consistent attendance allows them to settle in, make friends and develop a clear understanding of our daycare routine. Sporadic attendance can cause dogs to struggle each time they come in. For that reason we ask our clients to commit to at least one day per week on a regular basis and are unable to accommodate drop ins or single visit stays.

Are there health issues to be aware of?

Not unlike kids in daycare or school, dogs are susceptible to health issues. Though kids can come home with a myriad of bugs, there are only a handful of things you should be on the lookout for with your dog when they frequent the dog park or daycare. See our Keeping Dogs Healthy page for more information.

How do I arrange an assessment?

Payment will not be refunded or carried over without adequate notice.
